2008. Opened Imogen’s Studio, Isles of Scilly

As a recent graduate from the MA art and environment course my awareness of the locality I am in is heightened. The storms that I love to paint with the vibrancy of colours and energy have a darker narrative of our changing climate. The receding coastline and sand shifting beaches, devastation from seasonal storms open up the winter palette of opaque greys, greens and purples. Summer brings the tranquil, translucent sparkle of the water that distances our memories of turbulent times. My interest in the natural environment also sparks collaborative visual projects, bringing small acts of environmental and community repair into focus through creative workshops and installations. This balance between traditional image making and social interaction satisfies not only my exploration of the environment but also an exploration of the art world.

I have a new studio......

I have moved into KROWJI studios in Redruth. I am studio number 114c. Do come along to our next open studios, 4th,5th and 6th December... or if you can’t wait that long give me a call to come and visit!
